--------Event 1_What I saw and heard at Australasia Language College--------I have been studying languages at this school, Australasia Language College or called Australasia International School, since March 2023. I have studied with 13 teachers. What I have encountered recently has given me a headache. §The incident happened on Friday, September 20 this year, when we suddenly received a notice from this school saying that we would have to switch classes to another school the following Monday. In the evening of the same day, the school sent an email to the students (I found it in my SPAM) saying that students with Upper-Intermediate and EAP levels need to transfer to another school; students with Starter, Elementary, Pre-Intermediate and Intermediate levels would continue to attend the same school. It was a false alarm! §On Monday, September 23, the school combined all levels into one class (this is already very unreasonable). What's funny is that Teacher Ryan told us at the beginning of class: "This school may close down soon!" Is it appropriate to say this after the shock? Do words go through the brain? The students finished the first day of "comprehensive class" in a chaotic state. Finally, on September 26, the school announced that there would be two classes on Monday, September 30, namely the Intermediate class and the Starter and Elementary class. Teacher Simon, who had been teaching our Intermediate class before, taught the Starter and Elementary classes, but Ryan taught us the Intermediate class. From then on, our nightmare began...§Ryan spoke very quietly during class, and I could hardly hear him, know what he is talking about. His memory is very poor. There were 4 students and he only printed 3 copies of information for us, and then he was very busy walking around. One time, he and I were discussing a grammar question. He couldn't answer it, so he went to another classroom and asked Teacher Simon. I felt that this teacher was too unprofessional. Was his English taught by a PE teacher? One classmate even went to take Teacher Simon’s class. She said that the class there was shallow but interesting, but Ryan’s class was too boring! § After a week of this, I finally decided to write directly to the CEO of this school and submitted it on October 9th, requesting Teacher Simon to continue teaching our class. However, the CEO didn't make any reply. It wasn't until Monday, October 14th that I found Madam Lucy, the school administrator (I didn't know her position). After chatting with her, I found that it was useless and she was just giving me a perfunctory answer. I didn't put forward any time limit at that time. On Tuesday, October 15th, I asked Madam Lucy to ask the school to reply to my request on or before Friday, October 18th, so that I could make other arrangements and plans. At the time, I also told her that the situation I saw was that this school was heading towards closure. I also made a request: If the school deliberately creates difficulties, I reserve the right to pursue tuition fees for wasted study time. After a while, she took me directly to the CEO's room. The CEO (I forgot the guy’s name) asked me what my requirements were, and I said it was very clear in the letter I wrote to you. He told me in a condescending tone: "You have two options now: first, you can transfer to Simon's junior class; second, you may have to wait 4 or 5 weeks for a new teacher." I said, "Just let Teacher Simon teach us now! It's like going back to the situation a month ago, Simon has been teaching us for a while." The CEO still refused to respond directly and wanted to continue to explain, so I said: " Then finish !” Then I got up and left the CEO’s room. §In fact, among the 13 teachers I have experienced, some resigned voluntarily and some were fired by the school. I can accept it, but this time the school replaced our Teacher Simon without any reason, and he is still teaching in this school! This school has destroyed our stable learning environment, and Teacher Simon has established a certain degree of teaching understanding with us. Looking back at Ryan, I think he has the worst teaching quality and effectiveness among the 13 teachers. He spoke not standard British English but a country dialect of English. To be honest, I think he is not suitable to be a teacher. Furthermore, I think this school is also weird: it drives away teachers who teach seriously and leaves behind those with questionable moral character (this is a story for later, I will talk about it when I have a chance). §Due to the hasty preparation of this article, there may be some imperfections in the words.
